Aqua Robotics was founded by the Molaug family in 2016, the same family behind the establishment of AKVA, which today is AKVA Group. The company’s business concept is based on providing continuous cleaning of aquaculture nets through the autonomous HALO robot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of continuous cleaning, Aqua Robotics’ solutions create a better environment for the fish with less stress, reduced infection pressure, and generally improved fish health. At the same time, the robotization leads to more carbon-efficient aquaculture production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better for the fish and better for the environment<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aqua Robotics has developed an automatic net-washing system for the aquaculture industry. A net that is always clean ensures good water quality in the pen, which is crucial for fish welfare. Current practice for net washing using high-pressure washing is harmful to the fish and to the marine environment. The fish experience stress, may suffer hearing damage, and are exposed to increased infection pressure through frequent boat visits. Furthermore, copper, which is used as an anti-fouling impregnation on the nets, is released into the marine environment. A permanently installed HALO robot is gentle and keeps the net continuously clean, and the use of copper impregnation can therefore be eliminated. In addition, the industry can significantly reduce its CO2 footprint as the need for boat visits with washing vessels is minimized. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n
