Torghatten is one of Norway’s largest transport groups and currently operates ferry, express boat, and bus routes across the country. A driving force for a greener transport industry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Torghatten was founded in 1878 and is headquartered in Br\u00f8nn\u00f8ysund. The core business is within public transport by sea and land, and the group currently consists of several subsidiaries, including some of Norway’s largest ferry, express boat, and bus companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, the group has established a clear environmental profile and an ambitious sustainability strategy, aiming to take an active role in influencing various stakeholders to ensure that zero- or low-emission climate-friendly solutions are developed within the transport industry, and ensuring that Torghatten itself adopts these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Environmentally friendly transport solutions will make an important contribution toward achieving Norway’s climate goals. Ferries and buses are well-suited for electrification, and calculations show that a transition to battery and hydrogen solutions for ferries and electric city buses can reduce emissions by more than 2.4 million tonnes of CO2 equivalents from 2021 to 2030.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n
