Nysn\u00f8 invests in climate technology company Ducky<\/h1>\n\n\n

Stavanger 12.05.22 – The Norwegian climate technology company Ducky develops digital tools to help consumers, businesses and the public sector to reduce their climate footprint. Now they are raising capital from an investment consortium consisting of Nysn\u00f8 Climate Investments, T.D. Veen, Katapult Accelerator, Hafslund Ny Energi and the EQT Foundation, as well as existing investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, our consumption accounts for over two-thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions. To achieve our climate goals, the world\u2019s consumption pattern must change in a more sustainable direction. Ducky\u2019s technology quantifies emissions, and their applications give users insight into the climate impact of their own consumption.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Quantification of climate footprint is a field Nysn\u00f8 has followed over time. We believe that the future will be characterized by knowledge-based climate-friendly choices. At Nysn\u00f8, our mission is to make profitable investments in companies that will accelerate the green transition, and we believe Ducky is well positioned to both deliver good profitability and help reduce emissions, <\/em>says Guro Skj\u00e6veland, Senior Associate at Nysn\u00f8 Climate Investments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to a recent survey, as many as 7 out of 10 Norwegians state that they are willing to change their consumption due to climate change. Ducky\u2019s digital solutions will make it easier for users to get an overview of and change their consumption pattern to reduce emissions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Today we have good information about the nutritional content of foods. It enables us to make good, fact-based dietary choices. In the same way, we must build knowledge about the climate footprint of the products we buy in order to make better choices for the planet, <\/em>says Skj\u00e6veland.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The company has developed three products aimed at business, the public sector and consumers. Ducky Championship engages individual consumers to live more sustainably, Ducky Public gives counties and municipalities an overview of the inhabitants\u2019 climate footprint, and Ducky Data gives the business community the opportunity to tailor green solutions and include climate data in their own applications.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trondheim-based company has already established a customer base in Norway, and is preparing for international expansion. Now they are raising capital from an investment consortium consisting of Nysn\u00f8 Climate Investments, T.D. Veen, Katapult Accelerator, Hafslund Ny Energi and the EQT Foundation, as well as existing investors. In total, they invest just over NOK 30 million in the climate technology company.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
