Klimaklok Celebrates Its First Anniversary

One year ago, Nysnø Climate Investments, in collaboration with Maritime CleanTech, launched the podcast Klimaklok. The ambition was to share knowledge about climate technology and create a space for dialogue and reflection, with the goal of making us all a little wiser on the path toward a sustainable future.

Now, 26 episodes and several thousand listeners later, we can look back on a year filled with engaging conversations and fresh perspectives.

A Platform for Knowledge and Dialogue

Klimaklok was launched at a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty, as global climate agreements are being challenged and the international cooperation needed to reduce emissions is under pressure. The need for knowledge, collaboration, and transformation has rarely been more urgent.

Through conversations with experts and leading industry figures, Klimaklok highlights both the challenges and opportunities of the green transition, with the crucial role of technology as a recurring theme.

– With Klimaklok, we aim to provide insight into how climate technology can deliver solutions that are both sustainable and profitable. We hope the podcast will inspire more people to take part in this important transition, says Reber Iversen, Policy and Project Manager at Maritime CleanTech.

The response has been overwhelming: the debut season of Klimaklok was more popular than 93 percent of other new podcasts, and the show has been among the most shared podcasts in 2025. It has also ranked among the top 100 podcasts in Norway.

From the First Episode to a New Tradition

When Klimaklok launched one year ago, Norway’s Minister of Climate and Environment, Andreas Bjelland Eriksen, was the guest in the very first episode. One year later, he returns as a guest in the anniversary episode.

As the Minister himself puts it: this will become an annual tradition to summarize the “Klimaklok year.”

– There are immense opportunities within climate technology, and we are living in a time when innovation can solve major challenges. But for this to happen, technology and capital must meet, and Klimaklok plays an important role in making that connection, says Ingvild Meland, Director of Strategy and Communications at Nysnø Climate Investments.

About Klimaklok

Klimaklok is a collaboration between Maritime CleanTech, the world-leading innovation cluster for climate technology in the maritime sector, and Nysnø Climate Investments, the Norwegian state-owned investment company for climate technology.

The podcast aims to share knowledge and insight and to create a platform for dialogue on how technology can accelerate the transition to a sustainable future.
