Nysnø invests in the maritime software company Ofiniti AS

Nysnø invests in Ofiniti AS to accelerate the digital infrastructure needed for the transition to low-carbon marine fuels.

Stavanger, 18 March 2026: Nysnø Climate Investments (Nysnø) is investing in Ofiniti, a Norwegian maritime software company originating from the Norwegian certification company DNV. The company is behind the FuelBoss platform, which digitalizes the planning, execution, and documentation of bunkering operations. The investment is made in connection with a USD 6.8 million growth round, led by Verb Ventures, with participation from, among others, ShipsFocus and DNV Ventures.

Digital infrastructure for the maritime fuel transition

The next phase of the energy transition is not only about new fuel molecules, but also about verification, integrity, safety, and interoperability across systems. Ofiniti is positioned as the system enabling this transition—an operational layer that allows the energy transition to function at scale.

Bunkering is still characterized by manual and paper-based processes, while the shipping industry is moving toward a more complex fuel mix including LNG, biofuels, methanol, and ammonia. At the same time, requirements for documentation and data quality are tightening through regulations such as FuelEU Maritime and the EU ETS. Each fuel delivery must be documented precisely and verifiably, with accurate information on quantity, composition, and carbon intensity.

Ofiniti’s FuelBoss system provides operators and value chain participants with a digital foundation for coordination, planning, and documentation across fuel types. In 2025, more than 25,000 bunkering operations were carried out on the platform, including 500,000 tonnes of alternative fuels. Volumes are expected to increase significantly in 2026.

Strong position in key markets

Singapore is the world’s largest digital bunkering market, and Ofiniti reports a market share of approximately 40 percent there. The company was established within DNV and was spun out as an independent company in 2024. In 2025, Ofiniti completed its first acquisition with the purchase of Singapore-based Angsana Technology, and has since expanded its operations to multiple regions.

– Ofiniti delivers key digital infrastructure for the fuel transition in the maritime sector. The platform transforms bunkering from paperwork into real-time data that can be verified and audited. As shipping adopts more alternative and low-carbon fuels, traceability and data integrity become even more important. We look forward to supporting Tue and the Ofiniti team in their next phase of growth, says Maren Stangeland, Investment Manager at Nysnø.

– Our customers manage multiple fuel types, across multiple ports, under stricter documentation requirements than ever before. This includes major fuel suppliers and global trading houses that rely on Ofiniti’s seamless planning and automated documentation to reduce operating costs, safeguard themselves through verifiable digital records, and ensure full transparency in every delivery. This funding enables us to serve more customers in more markets, in line with the growing demand for digital bunkering operations, says Tue Nielsen, CEO of Ofiniti.
