We´ve got a new name: Nysnø

Nysnø literally means ´new snow´ and reflects our ambitions within climate investments reaching beyond renewable energy, as well as giving associations to something new and clean.

“We are looking for investment opportunities within all technologies that can reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Our new name underlines that our mandate is wider than just renewable energy. Snow is a strong indicator of global temperature regulation. ´New snow´ refers to freshly fallen snow, often new and clean powder snow. To put it simply, ´new snow´ is something we want to see more of,” says CEO Siri M. Kalvig in Nysnø Climate Investments.

We want to use a distinctly Norwegian name which also has the potential to capture international interest. The letter «Ø» (combination of o and e) is a special letter that the international community associates with Norway and the Nordic region.

“The new name, Nysnø Climate Investments, is supported by the owner and will formally be decided by the general assembly meeting shortly,” says chairman of the board, Widar Salbuvik.
Fornybar (Renewable) AS was established the 20th December 2017 by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. The company is to invest in technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and its investment mandate is described in the national budget for 2018.

The organization is currently being built up. We have a temporary location in Stavanger city centre and we are recruiting and establishing necessary governing documents. We are also working to develop the company’s profile. The website nysnoinvest.no will be up and running by the end of the summer.
