Sarsia Seed Fund II

A springboard for Norwegian startups

Sarsia Seed was established in 2006 in Bergen and is among Norway’s leading seed funds measured by returns. Since its inception, Sarsia has screened more than 900 startups within clean tech and med-tech, and today has a portfolio consisting of 22 companies across two funds.

The focus area of Sarsia Seed Fund II is Norwegian startups developing technology with a clear sustainability profile and international growth potential. The fund portfolio currently consists of twelve companies that directly or indirectly contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Valuable access to networks and expertise

Through extensive experience, Sarsia Seed has created an environment with high competence in early-stage investments. With a network of over 300 potential co-investors and contributors, the fund helps growth companies with sustainable company profiles to further develop and scale their technologies.

Sarsia Seed also participates in several evaluation committees at the Research Council and maintains regular contact with TTOs affiliated with universities, colleges, and research institutes, in addition to entrepreneurs.

Investments with climate impact

The fund seeks technologies that enable disruptive changes in energy-intensive industries and can have a significant environmental impact on sectors and markets, creating value for individuals, society, industry, and investors. The criterion is that the company is based in Norway, can contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and provide good long-term returns.

The fund has invested in companies and technologies within sensor technology, industrial IoT, materials technology, solar energy, battery technology, artificial intelligence, and technologies for energy production, efficient use, and distribution.
