AI-based precision spraying for cereal farming

Dimensions Agri Technologies (DAT) is a Norwegian agtech company developing AI-based solutions for precision spraying. The company’s solution, DAT EcoPatch, connects to conventional sprayers and makes it possible to distinguish weeds from cereal crops in real time during the growing season (“green-on-green”). This allows farmers to spray only where there is an actual need, which can reduce chemical use and make crop protection more precise.

The solution combines optical sensors, real-time image processing, and AI-based machine vision to distinguish weeds from crops under challenging field conditions. The system is compatible with standard ISOBUS infrastructure and can be installed on existing sprayers, making it relevant both for retrofitting and for integration with new equipment through machinery manufacturers. Independent field trials have shown significant reductions in herbicide use (45% on average), while also indicating positive yield effects in unsprayed areas.

DAT is headquartered in Ski and has built up its solution over many years through product development, field testing, and the collection of its own data from cereal production.

Nysnø is investing alongside Pymwymic and SBG Invest. Together, the investors bring capital, specialised agtech expertise, and a strong network to support further commercialisation and scaling across Europe.
