NorSun produces high-performance n-type wafers and is the leading supplier of this type of solar cell components outside Asia.
NorSun is one of the few wafer manufacturers that has survived the competition from China. By using premium polysilicon in combination with world-leading technology, NorSun offers wafers with a very low CO2 footprint. The production facility in Årdal is powered by hydropower. The company has also adopted new technology to reduce waste, reuse raw materials, and utilizes the nearby Årdalsvatnet for natural cooling.
Procurement schemes in several markets emphasize a low carbon footprint, and an increasing number of private customers are concerned with climate-friendly solutions. NorSun’s low CO2 footprint thus provides them with a clear competitive advantage.
