Aims to close the capital gap in the Nordics
Never before has more capital been invested in Norwegian early-stage companies. Nevertheless, growth companies find it challenging to raise capital for commercialization. Sandwater aims to help close the capital gap in the Nordics and secure new sources of capital that provide opportunities for sustainable innovation and technological development.
The fund manager Sandwater was established in 2021 by a team with extensive industry experience. The company will contribute experience, networks, and risk capital to stimulate a growing Norwegian venture environment and strengthen investment capacity in climate technology companies from early-stage to growth.
Investments with a sustainability agenda
The first-time fund, Sandwater Fund I, will invest in Nordic growth companies that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and to selected sustainability goals, particularly 7. Affordable and Clean Energy, 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities, 12. Responsible Consumption and Production, and 13. Climate Action. All investments must have growth potential within the investment areas of regenerate, improve, and vitalize. This includes companies that solve challenges related to resource scarcity, greenhouse gas emissions, energy transformation, health, and welfare.
