Develops industry-leading software for bird data
Spoor AI develops software that uses artificial intelligence to gather critical data on bird life. The technology can be used in the assessment and operation of wind farms where the operator is legally required to conduct impact assessments of wind turbines’ effects on bird life. Through smart cameras placed in concession areas, Spoor can visualize the bird’s actual and expected flight path. Their solutions aim to protect bird life, facilitate more efficient planning and operation, and thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Aims to close the data gap on impact on marine environments
Spoor addresses a rapidly growing market. Today, 837 GW of wind energy is installed globally. Over the next five years, 557 GW of wind energy is expected to be installed, equivalent to around 70,000 new wind turbines. According to BirdLife International, there is little data on the impact offshore wind development has on marine environments and wildlife. With its technology for data collection on bird life, Spoor will set the standard for ecologically sound development and operation of offshore wind farms.
